About

My name is Cira Ståhlberg

Hi, My name is Cira Ståhlberg and I am a fully qualified Registered Nurse (RN) from Helsinki, Finland.

I have been working in home care, outpatient care, psychiatric nursing and neurology outpatient clinic for both the city of Helsinki and Helsinki University Hospital (HUS).

My personal approach and interest in Nursing has always been to encounter the patient/ the person as a whole, thus I would say, in the perspective from Holistic Nursing.

My whole childhood and teenage years went studying different martial arts from taekwondo to muay thai, and meditation practices, the main focus being in the Korean martial art called taekwondo.  Along the sports practice in martial arts came the interest in discovering the inside and the Chi/Ki, spiritual side of the world and self development.

My first encounter with Reiki was in London UK, where I lived in 2005. I studied books mainly focusing on the western Reiki tradition. The years went by and I joined the Finnish Usui Reiki Ryoho -association and completed the courses of traditional Japanese reiki 1, 2 and the Japanese techniques course, which is not available in the western reiki practices.

The interest in Reiki deepened and I am currently moving forward in my reiki journey towards the "highest level" to become a teacher  or"sensei" (in japanese) the reiki shinbinden -level.

I want to emphasise here that traditional Japanese Reiki does not have masters or levels as such, in my reiki journey this means I am studying further to be able to teach others the practice of reiki. Meanwhile the path (do) of personal growth is continuing the lifetime :)

In addition to Nursing and reiki I do as well traditional Finnish energy healing, study spiritual literature and dreams focusing on connecting with the energy around us. Energy from reiki is pure love from the universe, or God however we like to call it, and cannot harm a soul, only healing and "fixing", where or what is needed for the better. I have been giving Reiki for people, animals, plants, sending good energy to sports events, for sick people in need, for the clarity of mind and decision making -just to name a few! Charity is also in a major role in Reiki as learned from the Sensei Usui who helped the victims of natural disasters in Japan etc (more information in the What is reiki -section underneath).

What is Reiki?

What is Reiki?

Ihmiskunnan ikivanha tieto elämästä perustuu ymmärrykseen siitä, että meitä ympäröi näkymätön energia,

which in the West has been called life force, bioenergy or etheric body. In the East, this energy has been known for millennia as chi, ki or prana. All major ancient religions and philosophies have a view of the life-sustaining force.

Energy therapy

Energy therapy is a general term for treatments that use energy directed through the hands to help the patient. It is a universal energy that the therapist can balance, increase or decrease with their hands. Energy work uses silent, conscious touch. During the treatment, blockages in the body are examined and helped to open them, while at the same time strengthening the entire body's energy system. Energy therapy revives the body's and mind's own healing powers.

Reiki on Mikao Usuin kehittämä japanilainen hoitomuoto, jota voidaan siirtää ihmiseltä toiselle.

Reiki is a Japanese form of treatment developed by Mikao Usui, which can be transferred from one person to another. It is easy to learn and simple to use. In Reiki treatment, the practitioner acts as an energy channel so that he does not have to give up his own energy, but rather transmits it from outside himself to the person being treated or to himself in self-care. In addition to treatments, meditation and silence exercises are an essential part of Japanese Reiki. Energy flows naturally in all of us and everyone also has an innate ability to use, or channel, energy. Most adults have these energy channels blocked. The circulation of energy may weaken due to stress or illness, for example, and this can cause many kinds of ailments. Reiki is studied in courses, one of the important parts of which is receiving Reiki attunements from the teacher. These attunements open energy channels, strengthen the flow of energy, and strengthen and harmonise the person.

Reiki is not associated with any religion, and it is practiced by a wide variety of people with their own views on life.

Effects of Reiki

Reiki sensitizes our ability to listen to the voice of inner intuition, which helps us understand the essence of illnesses and difficulties and become aware of their causes. Many have described this sensitization as an increase in joy of life and harmony or creativity. The deep relaxation experienced during Reiki treatment triggers stress and opens energy blockages. This speeds up a person's own healing processes, eases aches and pains, and increases personal strength.

Who is reiki suitable for?

Reiki treatment is a very gentle form of treatment that is suitable for everyone and all kinds of life situations. The body of the person being treated receives the energy transmitted from the hands exactly as much as it needs and is able to receive in that situation. Any unpleasant sensations during or after the treatment are the body's natural reactions to the release of energy blockages, and are not a sign of poor treatment or care. Children and young people under the age of 18 come to the treatment with their guardian.

Awareness about "false" Reiki

The rapid spread of Reiki in the West has unfortunately in many cases taken Reiki teaching far from the original Japanese Reiki. Reiki is marketed as a method of quick quick wins. It uses angels and amulets as help, and initiations are even allegedly transmitted by email. This is not the original Mikao Usui Reiki. Reiki is always an experiential event transmitted from person to person. It is an inner path, fast or slow depending on the person, and only the hands are used as a means of treatment.

Charity

Out of respect for Mikao Usui's relief work in the Great Tokyo Earthquake of 1923, the Reiki tradition includes the practice of selfless help. Reiki practitioners from all over the world usually gather at the sites of major disasters (such as the Kobe earthquake of 1995) to treat and help with rescue operations. Typical practices among Reiki practitioners around the world include various collections, energy transmission networks, and free Reiki courses. Other practical human help is also common.

Due to its naturalness, ease, and yet effectiveness, Reiki has spread widely around the world. Reiki came to Finland in 1985, and today there are tens of thousands of Reiki practitioners in the country.
